In addition to our Sunday meetings, the church also gathers in smaller groups in people’s homes during the week.
Home Group is the engine-room of the church:- and of the “Together-Life” of its members. This is a place to worship, hear God’s voice, study His word, pray for and encourage each other, practice using Spiritual gifts; to eat together, to have fun and to welcome visitors and newcomers. It’s a place to be real with each other and to develop friendships. Home groups are also the primary unit of Pastoral Care within the church. This is very much more effective than one person purporting to care for everyone in the church, and as John Wimber used to say, “everyone gets to play”.
All our Home Group Leaders receive excellent training and support, and are overseen by Peter and Arlene Friend: the Home Group Co-ordinators.
Currently there are five groups, located in St Andrews, Cupar, Strathkinness, Anstruther and Dairsie, with another planned for Dundee in the Autumn. More will start as demand grows, so watch this space. Some groups are a mix of all ages while others (well, one at the moment) are all students. Everyone in the church is encouraged to join a group, and this is as close as we come to having a Membership Roll.
If you would like to join a group, see list of Homegroups, find the one that looks right for you, and get in touch, or come and meet us on Sunday. The leaders’ mugshots are displayed on the church noticeboard. There’s no pressure to sign up. Just keep trying different ones until you find the one that feels like home.
